When Kia had their first debut of the Kia K900 luxury sedan, it was not hard to take a step backwards and realize just how far this company has come since first arriving in North America. The quality and reliability of virtually ALL Kia vehicles has risen every year since.
With their most luxurious sedan ever the K900 leans toward comfort, although its standard ZWD and twin-turbo-charged V-6 engine attests to the fact their is more here than meets the eye.
Although Kia isn’t the luxury sedan manufacturer most of us think of considering all the great ones out there, they find other ways to stand out among the many players. With the K900 you get a quick indication that most of its luxury virtues are part of the interior with walnut trim throughout with deluxe polished metal accents giving the K900 and executives touch.
Driving the K900 is a very pleasant experience as it is remarkably quiet, due to a well insulated cabin typically associated with its much more expensive and more established competitors such as BMW, Lexus and Mercedes.
The 2019 K900 from Kia is powered by a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine, and though they need to develop their image further to gain full acceptances as entry-level luxury, there is no doubt that the folks at Kia will get to that point, likely quicker than imagined.
With the K900, Kia’s attempt at luxury does a very convincing job
The question is, does anyone expect all that in a Kia? Does Kia have an image problem? If so, that may be evident in sales of the South Korean car company’s new K900, or in the lack of sales. Kia is well known as a manufacturer of high-quality affordable vehicles.
Test Drive: Kia’s flagship luxury sedan, the new K900, is both relaxing and stimulating
Do you want your luxury automobile to be relaxing or stimulating? The correct answer for most buyers is both: although most luxury sedans are biased in one direction or the other. Just like you wouldn’t want a life limited to “only coffee” or “only cocktails,” versatility in luxury sedans is a plus.
Kia’s new K900 is good – maybe too good for its nameplate
The K900 does a very convincing job of combining good looks and smart ergonomics with an elegant interior and a powerfully sporty engine. Does Kia have an image problem? If so, that may be evident in sales of the South Korean car company’s new K900 – or in the lack of sales.
